Given the erratic winter/spring weather and constant shifts in temperature we’ve seen so far this year, it might be a good idea to check your roof for signs of damage. This is best done on a sunny morning when it isn’t too cold or too hot, or on a day when it’s raining. If it’s raining, go up into the attic and check for leaks and excess moisture. While you’re at it, look at the framing structure and see if it looks sound. Check the condition of the metal flashing around the chimneys, skylights, pipes and vents. If you have a shingle roof, make sure they’re all still there and look at their condition. Check the rain gutters for clogs or leaks. A small leak in the seam of the gutter can be fixed with a caulking gun, but in most cases you should call a residential roofing company to fix any damage you see. Advanced Roofing and Exteriors, a family-owned company, is the top residential roofing company in Charlotte and Concord, NC. They have won the Angie’s List Super Service Award more than once. They are also a member of the Home Builders Association of Charlotte, an Owens Corning preferred contractor and a certified installer for Certainteed, GAF, Owens Corning and Tamko roofing products. They can deal with all aspects of building, maintenance and repair.
